Twelve. [ He grins, then gets up from the table, checking the table for anything he may have forgotten. ] Too little for life. You ready?

[She could toss her cup at him but she's sure he'd manage to dodge and then she'd probably hit some poor person behind him so she just frowns at him before grabbing her bag and standing up.]

Yes, so where to 'oh buyer of chocolate'?

[ He snags her empty dish and fork and sets it on the little counter thing before turning back to Holly, shoving his hands back into his pockets. ]

Just the grocery store. C'mon, let's walk. [ He'll start heading towards the door, leaning on it to let her through first. ]

[Tossing her cup out as she walks out, she smiles at him in thanks before waiting for him to lead the way.]

You know usually people buy this stuff in advance, though it's probably on sale today for last minute shoppers.

[ Ack. Skyler looks away, trying not to let his embarrassment show. ]

I... kind of forgot. Things kept happening.

[There's this quick flash of concern, it sits in her eyes for moments before she's smiling over it and shaking her head with a chuckle.]

Don't worry, I think it's okay as long as you remember before the days over.

[strikeraid]

[ -- Aw, man, he didn't mean to make her worry. He takes a deep breath in and gives her his best grin. ]

So what does that make you? The Valentine's Police?

[Putting a finger to her lips, she makes a considering face.]

I could be... or I could just be making sure you get the basic idea of Valentine's Day right, silly.

Hey, I've been through three more Valentine's Days than you have. I think I'd have it down by now, right?

And yet you're still last minute shopping. For shame.

[She wags her finger at you before laughing.]

[strikeraid]

[ He sticks out his tongue at her. ] I'll set an alarm next year. Put my Valentine's list on the special stationery. I can't forget something like that.

[keywarding]

I have some cute stationery I can let you have! [She grins brightly, really Skyler you're hilarious.]

[strikeraid]

And that is how we get things done. [ He gets behind her, putting his hands on her shoulders and pushing her back and forth gently. ] Team-work, team-work.

[Laughing, she reaches up to try and ruffle his hair.]

Of course Mr Boyscout! [They're at the store now, the red and pink signs advertising their 50% off Valentines Chocolate are everywhere!]

[strikeraid]

[ she does manage to ruffle his bangs, though he has to bend down for her to reach. ]

Choose something. Anything you want. [ Skyler walks a little down the hall and snatches up a bag full of mini Snickers bars and two packs of Kitkats. :> ]

[keywarding]

Anything? [Skyler don't you know to never tell a kid to pick anything? Glancing around she walks over towards a display of boxes of candy. She'd always wanted one of these, not the heart shaped ones because they all looked too 'romantic' and weren't filled with anything she'd like.

She does grab one though, a rectangle box with mint and fruit filled chocolates.]

Can I have this? [She holds the box up with a bright smile.]

[strikeraid]

[ ... Man, that's pretty grown up. He sticks the chocolates under his elbow and leans to take a look at it, whistling. ]

Sure. Kinda grown-up though, isn't it?

[keywarding]

What? I always wanted one! [Frowning, she moves to put it back. Maybe she should just get a thing of sweat hearts?]

[strikeraid]

[ nnnnnope nope he's going to reach over and block the shelf, letting the box bounce off his arm. ]

Toooo late, you already chose. C'mon, let's check out.

[keywarding]

[She almost fusses, because she's still young enough to think to but all he gets is a pressing of her lips together before she's bouncing behind him.

He's going to buy them! She thought for a second he was just going to make fun of her for them!

Watching over his shoulder, she takes note of the ones he got. Kit-kats huh? Maybe she can make her own for Christmas?]

[ He reaches over and ruffles her hair... then reconsiders halfway through the ruffle, pulling her head close to his chest, putting his head on top of hers in a brief hug. ]

[The hair ruffling isn't unusual, she almost resists just out of it being how they usually are, but the hug is a surprise. A welcome surprise at that.

Smiling she wraps her arms around his middle in a less awkward pose and squeezes tight.]
